The Ancient Daji Post Road

The Ancient Daji Post Road is a cultural relics protection unit of Zhejiang Province.

Situated along the route from the South Gate of Qingyuan County to Yingzhi Gate Street in Daji Village, the road spans 2.5 kilometers in length. Its width ranges from 0.7 to 1 meter, with most parts paved with small blue bricks measuring approximately 23 cm in length, 7 cm in width, and 3.5 cm in thickness, laid on their sides. Along the post road, there are three roadside pavilions: the Official-Receiving Pavilion, the Upper Pavilion, and the Lower Pavilion. The Official-Receiving Pavilion is located at the northwest entrance of Daji Village, covering an area of 28.8 square meters, featuring a square floor plan and a triple-eaved pyramidal roof. The Upper Pavilion is situated at the hilltop of the post road, with an area of 27.8 square meters, enclosed by rammed earth walls and featuring one door each on the south and north sides. The Lower Pavilion is located halfway up the mountainside, covering 34.8 square meters, also with rammed earth walls, and has one door each on the east and west sides.

The ancient post road, paved with small blue bricks, features clear lines and a simple, classic design, and is currently well-preserved. It is an important historic post road in our province.
