Temple of Lu Fu

The Temple of Lu Fu is a cultural relic protection unit of Zhejiang Province.

The Temple of Lu Fu (also known as the Temple of Bian Que), located in Songyuan Town, Qingyuan County, Zhejiang Province, is a cultural relic protection unit of Zhejiang Province.

The temple faces west and consists of four courtyards in a layout that forms an inverted "T" shape, covering a land area of 2,300 square meters with a built-up area of approximately 1,600 square meters. Between the first and second courtyards, there are wing rooms, a stage, a central pavilion, and side rooms; both the wing rooms and side rooms are single-eave, two-story structures — the wing rooms have a depth of one bay, while the side rooms also have a depth of one bay and feature a front corridor. The stage has a single-eave hip-and-gable roof, while the central pavilion features a double-eave hip-and-gable roof, built on a 2.5-meter-high stepped platform, with its rear eave connecting to the central bay of the second courtyard. The last three courtyards all have five bays. The central bay of the second courtyard serves as a passageway. A single-eave hip-and-gable pavilion connects the central bays of the second and third courtyards. The third courtyard has a rear wall that separates it from the fourth courtyard, with doors on either side bay serving as entrances to the fourth courtyard. The fourth courtyard is designed as a three-sided courtyard.

The Temple of Lu Fu is built along the natural terrain, with buildings situated at varying heights in a well-arranged manner. Its structure is rigorous and the complex is well-preserved. The main hall of the temple enshrines Lu Fu, also known as Bian Que, making it the only temple in Zhejiang Province solely dedicated to the ancient physician Bian Que.
