Shenli Gorge

Shenli Gorge is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

Pujiang Shenli Gorge is located in the picturesque Pujiang County. It was developed with investment from the Hengdian Group and has become one of the outdoor filming locations for Hengdian World Studios. The gorge enjoys extremely convenient transportation, being only 120 km from Hangzhou, 28 km from Yiwu, and 7 km from the Pujiang exit of the Hang-Jin-Qu Expressway.

The Shenli Gorge scenic area features a typical natural canyon landscape, with undulating mountains, towering boulders, and numerous waterfalls. It boasts abundant natural resources, especially thousands of freely roaming birds that interact playfully with visitors, creating a perfect harmony between humans and nature.

The southern part of the scenic area is characterized by steep mountains and a serene natural environment, while the northern section is home to ancient ancestral halls, temples, and distinctive Ming and Qing dynasty architecture. There are twenty scenic mountain sites, including Incense Burner Clouds, Zhu Yun Waterfall, Stone Bamboo Cold Spring, Immortal’s Resting Place, Pig Head Mountain, Grandpa Chen Carrying Rocks, Hundred-Step Valley, and Meteor Cliff for Eagle Watching. Within the scenic area lies a 3-kilometer-long ancient post road, which includes an old post station called “Ten-Li Pavilion.” Since the Song Dynasty, Shenli Gorge has been a favored destination for scholars and poets. Literary figures from the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties, such as Wu Siqi, Fang Feng, and Xie Ao, visited here in groups and left behind numerous poems and travelogues.

The southern part of the scenic area features towering mountains, misty clouds, deep forests, and clear waters. It has many flatlands, uniquely shaped rocks, and beautiful waterfalls, all contributing to a tranquil natural environment.
