Pujiang Fuchun Wild Horse Ridge

The Fuchun Wild Horse Ridge scenic area is situated in the remote mountains at the junction of Pujiang, Jiande, and Tonglu counties (cities), in the upper reaches of the Huyuan River basin in the northwest of Pujiang County. The Jiangyi Highway traverses the ridge (elevation 688 meters). The area spans 20 square kilometers and boasts rugged peaks and unusual rock formations. The highest, the Turtle Stone (also called the Sky-Gazing Turtle or the Divine Turtle Asking the Heavens), rises to an elevation of 957 meters. Some rocks rise abruptly from the earth, others sit crouched as if gazing downward, some stand together like billowing curtains, while others take on bizarre animal shapes or resemble human figures—each peak competing in wonder and uniqueness. The mountains are covered with ancient trees and draped with extraordinary vines across the ridges, boasting rich vegetation. It combines beauty, peculiarity, serenity, and wildness, making it a scenic destination of exceptional natural beauty and a strong untamed charm. Renowned painters such as Ye Qianyu, Kong Zhongqi, and Jiang Baolin have visited here, drawn by its splendor, and have written and painted about it.
