The Dongchuan Millennium Torreya Grandis Ancient Tree Cluster is located in Huanglianwu, Dongchuan Village, Anwen Town, Pan’an County, with a total of 515 trees. This ancient Torreya grove is the oldest gathering site of Torreya trees in China. Its large quantity, remarkable age, and excellent growth condition are rarely seen in the world. Among them, the largest Torreya tree stands 30 meters tall, with a chest diameter of 2.98 meters and a crown spread of 23×23 meters. Estimated to be over 1,500 years old, it is hailed as the “King of Chinese Torreya.” The ancient Torreya tree cluster boasts a long history and rich cultural heritage. Literary figures throughout the dynasties, including Su Shi of the Northern Song Dynasty and Ye Shi of the Southern Song Dynasty, once visited this site and composed numerous poems praising the Torreya trees.
