Overview and main features: The ancient trail was built during the Northern Song Dynasty, with a total length of ten li, paved with flagstones and an average roadbed width of 2 meters. It starts from the foot of Zhu Xiling Village in Pan’an County in the east and ends at Xitang’an in Dongyang City in the west, primarily situated within Pan’an County. It served as an official route in ancient times connecting Anwen to Dongyang, Yongkang, and Jinhua. The trail is well-preserved, flanked by rich vegetation and large clusters of maple trees, including over 20 towering ancient maples. In late autumn, the hills are covered with red foliage, resembling a crimson glow draped over Zhu Xiling. At the ridge’s summit lies an ancient village with earthen walls, black-tiled roofs, and traditional structures, where some local families still reside.
