Yiwu Dishuiyan Scenic Area

Located in Suxi Town, Yiwu. Upon entering the Dishuiyan Scenic Area, visitors can ascend along the massive rock face to reach the Hu Gong Hall. Inside the hall, there is not only a statue of Hu Ze but also a statue of Zong Ze, a famous anti-Jin general from the Song Dynasty.

Exiting the Hu Gong Hall and continuing up the stone steps leads to the Maitreya Temple. The temple’s main hall houses a 7.5-meter-tall Maitreya Buddha with a waist circumference of 7.3 meters, carved directly from a huge rock.

In front of the main hall, on either side, there are also two Burmese jade Buddhas. These two jade Buddhas were originally gifted by the Buddhist community in Myanmar to the Fahua Temple in Yueqing. Upon learning that Dishuiyan boasts stunning scenery and significant cultural value, the abbot of Fahua Temple decided to donate them here. The jade Buddha statues have fine, smooth textures resembling glass, gleaming all over, and are considered masterpieces of carving art.

Exiting the Maitreya Temple and climbing about 20 meters up along the southern rock face leads to the Lecture Pavilion, built to commemorate the Yuan Dynasty scholar Shi Yizhui, who once gave lectures here.

Passing through the Lecture Pavilion, just a few steps away lies the Scenic Viewing Pavilion, an ideal spot for enjoying the view.

Continuing to climb several dozen meters further brings you to the summit of Dishuiyan. Here, a newly built seven-story pagoda is particularly eye-catching. Visitors can spiral up the stone steps inside the pagoda, where they can admire the stone lions, stone dragons, and the thousand Buddha statues lining the inner walls. Moreover, with each level climbed, one can walk around the outer corridor to take in the views of the landscape below. Upon reaching the top of the pagoda, the new look of Suxi unfolds in full view.
