China Yiwu International Commodities Fair is set to celebrate its 20th edition. Yesterday afternoon, commerce authorities from cities across the province and 17 industrial cluster bases gathered in Yiwu to specifically discuss preparations for the 20th Yiwu Fair. Chen Ruf, Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Commerce, urged local commerce departments to fully support the fair’s exhibitor recruitment efforts, encouraging more brand-name and high-quality companies to participate and leverage this international platform to expand both domestic and overseas markets.

The 20th Yiwu Fair will be held from October 21 to 25 at the Yiwu International Expo Center. The event will feature 4,500 international standard booths, covering an exhibition area of over 120,000 square meters. It is planned to include seven major industry sectors: hardware, electronics and electrical appliances, textiles and garments, jewelry and accessories, arts and crafts, daily necessities, as well as culture, sports and outdoor leisure. Additionally, there will be four special zones for e-commerce and trade services, imported goods, processing trade commissioned by the All-China Women’s Federation, and provincial mountain-sea cooperation.
Ge Guoqing, Deputy Secretary of the Yiwu Municipal Party Committee, stated that as the Yiwu Fair approaches its 20th anniversary, efforts will be made to deliver more distinctive and eye-catching features. In terms of exhibitor recruitment, preferential policies will be introduced to prioritize inviting leading and innovative enterprises from the seven major industries, aiming to increase the proportion of new products and technologies showcased and highlight the guiding role of the fair. At the same time, active efforts will be made to organize the participation of overseas enterprises and domestic companies engaged in import trade, expanding the imported goods section and continuously enhancing the international level of the fair.
Chen Ruf, Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Commerce, pointed out that the Yiwu Fair is a key lever for the market and an important vehicle for the development of Yiwu’s market. It is essential to fully recognize the significance of successfully hosting the Yiwu Fair. Local commerce departments should implement tasks and fully support the fair’s exhibitor and visitor recruitment efforts, encouraging more brand-name and high-quality companies to participate and utilize this international platform to expand both domestic and overseas markets. Go all out to ensure the successful hosting of the Yiwu Fair and strive to promote the comprehensive development of Yiwu’s market.
During the Yiwu Fair, the 3rd China (Yiwu) Global Buyers’ Conference and the 4th China (Yiwu) Global Overseas Chinese Merchants’ Conference will be held concurrently. These two high-level economic and trade events are expected to attract more overseas trade delegations and professional buyers to the fair. According to preliminary feedback, multiple large supermarket procurement teams, overseas trade delegations, and heads of major markets have already expressed clear intent to attend. For instance, the Bintang Chamber of Commerce in Malaysia had over 60 participants in the last edition, which yielded excellent results, with more than 20 members regularly sourcing goods from the Yiwu market. Recently, the chamber proactively reached out, planning to organize a procurement team of 100 members for this edition.
To enhance the trade effectiveness of the fair, the organizing committee plans to hold ten procurement matchmaking events during the fair period, including industry-specific procurement sessions, procurement briefings, and large supermarket procurement matchmaking sessions. Based on procurement directories, suppliers will be carefully selected for targeted matching. In addition, several trend release conferences will be organized to help participating companies and merchants stay ahead of industry trends.
It is reported that a series of 20th-anniversary theme activities will also be launched during the fair, including an outstanding enterprises selection, a 20th-anniversary photo exhibition, and an e-commerce entrepreneurship salon for small commodities enterprises.
