On August 14, the press conference for the "Huameili Home 2014 7th China Pingxiang Wugongshan International Tent Festival & Rock Concert at the Roof of Jiangxi" was grandly held in the picturesque city of Pingxiang, Jiangxi, signaling the relaunch of this internationally renowned outdoor tent festival, which has so far had the widest reach, greatest impact, and largest participation in China. The event drew widespread attention from all sectors of society. Leaders from the Wugongshan Scenic Area Management Committee of Pingxiang and the Pingxiang Mountaineering Association were invited to attend, along with numerous celebrities, corporate representatives, club enthusiasts, and dozens of journalists from the media. The atmosphere at the scene was extremely lively.

"This year, we’ve made bold innovations with the tent festival. Breaking away from the traditional focus on camping, we’ve aligned with the trends popular among younger generations by introducing fashionable and entertaining cross-industry concepts such as rock music and cosplay. We’ve created a double-festival extravaganza where outdoor adventure meets music. The Wugongshan area’s vast 100,000-acre alpine meadows—rare natural resources—not only provide an ideal setting for various outdoor activities but also offer the perfect venue for a rock concert. In terms of crowd base, environmental conditions, and music atmosphere, it will be a paradise where rock music can truly thrive. It’s safe to say this year’s tent festival will be even more visually stunning, musically exciting, and fun-filled. Let’s all stay tuned," said Yan Gang, director of the organizing committee office.
According to the organizing committee, the official website of this year’s tent festival has now gone live. In addition to continuing popular traditional events from previous years—such as team-loaded hiking, highland tug-of-war, rock climbing competitions, bonfire parties, and camping experiences—the festival has added new outdoor skill competitions including mountain rescue and rapid tent pitching. Moreover, the million-person environmental signature campaign and the million-person golden summit sunrise viewing will be two standout crowd-drawing activities of this year’s festival. Notably, from the very beginning, the festival has launched a series of online interactive topics and activities centered around the music theme, including the "Wugongshan ‘Most Rockin’ Photo SHOW’" and the "Green Aerobic Music Cover Contest." These Weibo and WeChat-based new media interactions, featuring the most engaging topics, most eye-catching innovations, and most dynamic formats, have sparked an unprecedented online carnival, helping to drive even greater excitement for the live festival.
