On the morning of April 11, the 2015 China International E-Commerce Expo (referred to as the E-Commerce Expo), themed “E-Commerce Transforms Trade, Global Opportunities,” kicked off at the Yiwu International Expo Center.

Themed “E-Commerce Transforms Trade, Global Opportunities,” this edition of the expo attracted 1,031 exhibitors and featured 2,218 international standard booths, covering an exhibition area of 50,000 square meters. The 2015 China (Yiwu) World E-Commerce Conference, themed “Gathering Global E-Commerce, Connecting Worldwide Markets,” included keynote speeches, panel discussions, and forums, covering 28 topics such as the digital transformation of traditional enterprises, the integration of online and offline commerce, and the business models of micro e-commerce.

The E-Commerce Expo was guided by the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, hosted by the People’s Government of Zhejiang Province, and co-organized by the China International Electronic Commerce Center, the China Electronics Chamber of Commerce, and the People’s Government of Yiwu City. The expo featured 2,218 international standard booths, covered an exhibition area of over 50,000 square meters, and hosted 1,031 companies from 10 countries including the United States, the United Kingdom, Russia, and South Korea, as well as 18 provinces and cities in China, bringing together leading domestic e-commerce enterprises and industry elites.

As a national-level e-commerce expo, this event is another global top-tier gathering following the World Internet Conference and serves as an important platform for related industries and enterprises to seek e-commerce cooperation. The hosting of the expo has significant influence and serves as a model and driving force in creating an open and integrated e-commerce environment and atmosphere, better promoting the development of China’s e-commerce, enabling China not only to have a voice in the formulation of internet rules but also to lead global development in the field of internet applications.

The E-Commerce Expo will run until the 13th. During the expo, a series of supporting events will also be held, including the 2015 China (Yiwu) E-Commerce Talent Festival, the First World WeChat Business Conference, the International Summit on E-Commerce Development and Commercial Distribution Transformation and the Annual Meeting of the China Distribution 30 Forum (G30), and the Sixth China Communication Marketing (TV, Online, Mobile) Annual Conference and the Release Ceremony of the Electronic Transaction Qualification Evaluation Standards.
