Houwantian Ancestral Hall

The Houwantian Ancestral Hall is a cultural heritage site protected at the municipal level in Jinhua City.

The Houwantian Ancestral Hall is located in the center of Xiajie Village, Jiangwan Village, Choujiang Subdistrict, Yiwu City. It dates back to the Qing Dynasty and is classified as an ancient architectural structure.

The building faces south and covers an area of 623.8 square meters. It is divided into front, middle, and rear sections with wing rooms on both sides, though the rear section has been destroyed. Both the front and rear sections consist of five bays each, featuring a five-rafter lifted-beam structure with a front rolled awning and a rear double-step beam. The corridors and eaves are exquisitely carved, and the beams and pillars are made of large timber. The brackets, spandrels, dougong (bracket sets), and beam frames exhibit carving craftsmanship characteristic of the Qianlong era, demonstrating considerable historical, artistic, and scientific value.

It was designated as a municipal-level cultural heritage conservation site in June 2006, and as a municipal-level cultural relics protection unit in April 2013, with the announcement number Yizhengfa [2013] No. 29 dated April 24, 2013.
