Seven Buildings (Wu Residence in Dayuan Village) is a cultural relics protection unit of Jinhua City.

Seven Buildings (Wu Residence in Dayuan Village) is located at the side of No. 53, Qianyuan, Dayuan Village, Jiangdong Subdistrict, Yiwu City. It dates back to the Qing Dynasty and is categorized as an ancient building.

It was designated as a municipal-level cultural relics protection unit in May 1987, with the announcement document number being Yizhengfa [1987] No. 66, dated 1987.05.11.

Cultural value: The structure is a clan ancestral hall that spans five courtyards.

Protected area: The front and rear two courtyards, the left and right wing rooms, and surrounding auxiliary buildings.

Construction control zone: A rectangular construction control zone is formed by the intersection of four boundary lines — 10 meters north of the northern exterior wall of the Seven Buildings to the southern exterior wall of the residence of Wu Xinlin; 10 meters westward from the western exterior wall to the eastern exterior wall of the residence of Wu Houfu; 57.5 meters southward from the southern exterior wall to the northern exterior wall of the residence of Wu Guangjin; and 12.5 meters eastward from the eastern exterior wall to the western exterior wall of the residence of Wu Laofu.

Dayuan Village: Introduction to Dayuan Village

Dayuan Village is located in the eastern part of Yiwu City, at the southern corner of the Yongjin Expressway and Provincial Highway 37. It consists of 23 villager groups, with 1,100 households and a total population of over 2,700, making it the largest village in Jiangdong Subdistrict, Yiwu City.

In the year 1064, the founding ancestor Wu Zao served as the Yiwu County Clerk and settled at the southern foot of Wusun Mountain. As the eldest son, he was referred to as “Da” (meaning “big”), and “Yuan” means “first,” hence the name Dayuan. Later, Wu Zao became the Privy Councilor and built the “Privy Councilor” building in the year 1099.
