Tomb of Wu Baipeng

The Tomb of Wu Baipeng is a cultural heritage site protected at the municipal level in Jinhua City.

The Tomb of Wu Baipeng is located on Qinglong Mountain, about one kilometer southwest of Shankou Village, Jiangdong Subdistrict, Yiwu City. It dates back to the Ming Dynasty and is classified as an ancient tomb.

It was designated as a municipal-level cultural heritage site in March 1995, under the announcement document No. Yizheng [1995] 64 dated March 24, 1995.

Cultural value: The tomb of Wu Baipeng, who served as Minister of Justice during the Jiaqing era, President of the Court of Judicial Review during the Longqing era, and Vice Minister of War.

Protected area: A circular protected zone with a 10-meter radius centered on the tomb of Wu Baipeng.

Construction control zone: An area extending 20 meters beyond the protected zone, centered on the tomb.

Wu Baipeng (1519–1578), courtesy name Weixi, art name Yaoshan, was from Dayuan Village, Yiwu. He passed the imperial examination in the 26th year of the Jiajing era (1547) and was appointed magistrate of Yongfeng County. In the 29th year, he served as an imperial censor of Shanxi Circuit, overseeing the northern Jiang region. At that time, Japanese pirates threatened Guabu in Jiangsu. Wu Baipeng led a light cavalry unit to reinforce Huaiyang. The three supervisory officials and the prefect inside the city shut the gates tightly. Wu knocked on the gate for three days and was only allowed in after verifying his official seal. After entering, he mobilized troops, gathered weapons and provisions for city defense. The provincial governor forbade civilians from entering the city, but Wu urgently ordered the gates opened to let all citizens in.
