Tomb of Ni Renji

The Tomb of Ni Renji is a cultural heritage site protected at the municipal level in Jinhua City.

The Tomb of Ni Renji is located at the entrance of Guantangcheng Natural Village, Bailiantang Village, Jiangdong Subdistrict, Yiwu City. It dates back to the Qing Dynasty and is categorized as an ancient tomb.

In March 1999, it was designated as a municipal-level cultural heritage site, with the announcement number Yizheng [1999] No. 43, dated March 17, 1999.

Cultural value: The tomb of Ni Renji, a renowned talented woman from the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, who was the great-great-granddaughter-in-law of Wu Baipeng, skilled in poetry, calligraphy, painting, and particularly accomplished in embroidery.

Protected area: A circular area with a 10-meter radius, centered on the tomb’s core.

Construction control zone: An area extending 20 meters beyond the protected area, also centered on the tomb’s core.

Ni Renji (1607–1685), female, courtesy name Xinhui, self-styled as Ningxiangzi, was born in Shangjinsheng Village, Tonghua, Pujiang (now Nidacun Village, Lanxi). From childhood, she was intelligent, virtuous, and well-read in classics, history, poetry, and literature, excelling also in calligraphy, painting, and embroidery. At the age of 17, she married Wu Zhiyi from Yiwu, and became a widow at 20. Afterward, she spent her years caring for her mother-in-law, raising her nephew, and engaging in poetry and painting. Her poetry is mainly in the form of five- and seven-character quatrains, marked by a unique style and artistic conception. Early works include sensual poetry, among which the "Thirty-Six Poems on the Four Seasons of the Palace" are fresh and exquisite, considered her proudest creations. Bailiantang Village: Introduction to Bailiantang Village

Bailiantang Village is located in the Qinkou Work Area of Jiangdong Subdistrict. To the east lies the Yiwu River, to the north are Chuanbutou Village and Chounian Highway, to the west is Sunshine Avenue, and to the south is the entrance to the Yongjin Expressway, offering highly accessible transportation.
