Senyutang

Senyutang is a cultural heritage site protected at the municipal level in Jinhua City.

Senyutang is located at No. 65, East Area, Hezhai Village, Niansanli Subdistrict, Yiwu City. It dates back to the 20th year of the Guangxu reign during the Qing Dynasty (1894) and is categorized as an ancient architectural structure.

The building faces south and was originally a two-courtyard, four-sided compound with three sections, three bays, and wing rooms on both sides. The rear section has now been replaced with modern architecture. The building covers a floor area of 641 square meters. Its notable features include exquisite wood and stone carvings. The main hall is an open hall with an exposed roof structure, using a five-rafter lifted-beam system with double-step beams at the front and rear, featuring winter melon-shaped beams. On both sides of the front hall, there are dragon and tiger doors on the gable walls, and both the dragon-tiger doors and the column bases are adorned with fine stone carvings. It serves as an important physical artifact for studying the art of wood and stone carving from the mid to late Qing Dynasty, possessing significant historical, artistic, and scientific value.

It was designated as a municipal-level cultural heritage site in April 2013, with the official announcement document number being Yizhengfa [2013] No. 29, dated April 24, 2013.
