Shusheng Hall

Shusheng Hall is a cultural heritage site protected by Jinhua City.

Shusheng Hall is located at No. 128, Sianjie Village, Fotang Town, Yiwu City. It dates back to the Qianlong era of the Qing Dynasty and is classified as an ancient building.

It was designated as a municipal-level cultural heritage site in November 2013, and as a municipal-level cultural heritage unit in February 2018, under announcement document No. 2018.02.09 Yi Zheng Fa [2018] No. 9.

Sianjie Village: The village of Sianjie in Fotang Town, Yiwu City, got its name because its original site was located on the street leading to Shuanglin, situated in front of a temple, hence the name “Sianjie” (Street in Front of the Temple).

The village has two camphor trees that are already 800 years old. Yiwu’s Fotang Town is a millennia-old ancient town, home to numerous Ming and Qing dynasty-era buildings, and Sianjie Village is a microcosm of this historic town’s character. According to villagers, the village was established after the temple, and the ruins of the 1,500-year-old Shuanglin Temple lie “asleep” in a reservoir just 300 meters outside the village.
