Zhang Xide’s Former Residence is a cultural heritage site protected at the municipal level in Jinhua.

Zhang Xide’s Former Residence is located at No. 17 Yong’an Road, Shangxi Second Village, Shangxi Town, Yiwu City. Dating back to the Republican Era, it falls under the category of modern historical sites and representative architecture.

It was designated as a municipal-level cultural heritage site in February 2018, with the announcement document bearing the reference number Yizheng Fa [2018] No. 9, dated 2018.02.09.

Shangxi Second Village: As the location of the town government, Shangxi Second Village is 15 kilometers from the Yiwu International Trade City, with Provincial Road 03 running through the village. Since the late Southern Song Dynasty, people from Liantang, Jinhua, migrated and settled west of Lanping Pond, originally named Yuncreek. According to the *Genealogy of the Zhang Clan of Yuncreek*, “The county lost its western hills, where the scenery is bright and the waters clear, with clouds lingering daily — hence the name Yuncreek.” Later, because the settlement was located on a sandy bank where a thin stream meandered, the flowing water shaped the creek into a beach, leading to the name “Rangxi” (Letting Creek), which eventually evolved into “Shangxi” (Upper Creek). Shangxi has a history of one thousand years. The local customs are simple and honest, and the area has produced many talented individuals.
