The New Hall Ancestral Temple of Bao's Residence

The New Hall Ancestral Temple of Bao's Residence is a cultural heritage site protected at the municipal level in Jinhua City.

The New Hall Ancestral Temple of Bao's Residence is located at No. 1, North of Baozhai Village, Yiting Town, Yiwu City. It dates back to the Qing Dynasty and is classified as an ancient architectural structure.

Facing west and situated to the east, it consists of three courtyards with five bays each, a central passageway, and corridors on both sides, covering a total area of 509.7 square meters. The front hall is five bays wide, featuring an “eight”-shaped gate at the front eaves, a golden-column gate in the middle bay, and continues to the rear eaves which connect to the stage and the corridor hall. The main hall has five open bays. The rear hall is slightly higher than the front hall, with a two-level stair platform at the front eaves. Each of the side corridors consists of a two-story building with three bays on each floor; the ground floor is open with two pillars and three purlins, while the upper floor features lattice windows at the front eaves. The overall architecture reflects the style of the late Qing Dynasty. The building’s exterior eaves are adorned with exquisite brick carvings, and the interior features fine wood carvings, giving it significant cultural heritage value.

It was designated as a municipal-level cultural heritage site in April 2013, with the official announcement number being Yizheng Fa [2013] No. 29, dated April 24, 2013.

Baozhai Village: Located southeast of Yiting Town, Baozhai Village has a total population of 1,768, covers 1,100 acres of land, and includes 53 Party members. It comprises two natural villages, Baozhai and Xumache, divided into 12 groups. Currently, the area is undergoing the second phase of industrial development in Yiting.

Major roads within the village have been paved and landscaped with flowers and trees. Three new illuminated basketball courts have been built. The entire village’s water supply pipes have been completely replaced, and the ponds used for domestic water are currently under repair. An ecological cemetery site has also been established. To better serve all villagers, it is believed that the village will soon present a brand-new look.
