Yanling Ancestral Hall

Yanling Ancestral Hall is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Zhejiang Province.

Yanling Ancestral Hall is located in Choujiang Subdistrict, Yiwu City, and dates back to the Qing Dynasty.

Yanling Ancestral Hall is situated in Diankou Shang Village, Choujiang Subdistrict. It faces a front courtyard and is oriented northeast to southwest. The structure includes seven bays in three sections with two side wings, each having five bays, and covers an area of about 1,300 square meters. Built during the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty, it features a three-bay single-opening main gate resembling the gateway of a princely residence. The grand gate is a three-bay, five-rafter hip-and-gable roofed pavilion-style archway with upturned eaves and ridge ornaments in the shape of a mythical turtle swallowing the ridge. The transverse beam above the gate is tall and adorned with Dongyang wood carvings. The door leaves are installed between the golden columns, with four-panel screen doors in each bay. The central door is operable, and above its lintel hangs a plaque inscribed with “Yanling Ancestral Hall.” In front of the gate is a barrier of barricade stakes, and on both sides stand three pairs of flagpole stones, symbolizing the status of a distinguished official family with noble heritage.

Protected area: Includes the main structure of Yanling Ancestral Hall itself, extending 20 meters southwest along the outer wall to open land, and 1 meter outward along the southeast, northeast, and northwest outer walls. The total protected area covers 2,055 square meters.

Construction control zone: A closed area formed by extending 30 meters outward from the boundary of the protected area. It covers a total area of 9,421 square meters.

On January 13, 2017, the People's Government of Zhejiang Province designated it as part of the seventh batch of Provincial Cultural Heritage Protection Units in Zhejiang.

Choujiang Subdistrict: Located southwest of downtown Yiwu, Choujiang Subdistrict borders Jiangdong Subdistrict across the river to the east, faces Fotang Town to the south, connects to Yiting Town and Chengxi Subdistrict to the west, and adjoins Choucheng, Beiyuan, and Chengxi Subdistricts to the north. It covers an administrative area of 38 square kilometers. The subdistrict administers three work zones: Jinfazhan, Jiangwan, and Guantang; seven communities: Jindu, Fenghuang, Xingye, Songmenli, Changde, Gaoxin, and Yongxiang; four neighborhood committees; 33 administrative villages; 389 villager groups; a local population of 48,448; a migrant population of 130,527; and 896 registered foreign residents.
