The Dai Clan Ancestral Hall, “Baishun Hall,” was first built during the Ming Dynasty and restored in the ninth year of the Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty, with a construction area of nearly 800 square meters. Located in Shiping Village, Tangxi Town, Wucheng District, this hall is grand and tall, featuring a unique structure. It houses an opera stage that can accommodate over a thousand spectators. The carvings in “Chonghou Hall” are exquisitely crafted, almost supernatural in craftsmanship. Other brick relief patterns such as “Carp Leaping Over the Dragon Gate” and “Nine Lions Fighting for the Ball” are also rare to find in China. Halls like “Liben Hall,” “Jishun Hall,” “Hong San Hall,” “Hong Si Hall,” and “Tu Ku Hall” all exhibit typical architectural features from the Ming Dynasty. Moreover, there are currently ancient residential buildings occupied by villagers with a total area of over 10,000 square meters, showcasing diverse styles that are truly a feast for the eyes.

Shiping Village: Nestled at the foot of Jiufeng Mountain, a provincial-level scenic area, Shiping Village in Tangxi Town, Wucheng District, is recognized as a fifth batch of China’s Historic and Cultural Villages. It is famed as one of China’s most beautiful villages adorned with brick carvings and is considered the hometown of Yin Niang, one of China’s ancient top ten beauties. The village is located six kilometers from Tangxi Town, with 468 current farming households and a population of 1,650. The ancestors of the Dai Clan in Shiping migrated here from the late Yuan Dynasty and have thrived for over 700 years. Legend has it that during the reign of Emperor Xianzong of the Ming Dynasty, a local maiden named “Yin Niang” was chosen to enter the imperial palace and became a “royal consort,” which brought increasing prosperity to the village.
