Siping Village in Tangxi Town, Wucheng District, Jinhua City, is an ancient village influenced by Huizhou-style architecture, with a history of over 700 years. It currently preserves eight relatively intact halls from the Ming and Qing dynasties, along with a total of more than 1,000 ancient residences. Its Huizhou-style buildings are considered the most authentic, largest in scale, and best-preserved ancient village complex in Zhejiang Province, and has been designated as a “Historical and Cultural Famous Village” by the Wucheng District Government of Jinhua City.

Each ancient building in Siping Old Village features thousands of brick carvings on its façade — depictions of birds, beasts, flowers, insects, fish, and scenes from traditional operas. The patterns are exquisitely designed, the carvings finely crafted, and the lines smooth and graceful. This unique carving art is truly unparalleled. In the process of new rural development, the village cadres of Siping have demonstrated a strong awareness of cultural preservation. On the basis of village renovation, they have enhanced the protection of cultural relics. Today, Siping Village boasts a modern farmers’ leisure plaza, ornamental lotus ponds, and classical-style corridors, adding bright touches to this ancient village that has withstood a thousand years of wind and dust.

The ancestors of the Dai clan in Siping migrated here from the late Yuan Dynasty and have thrived here for over 700 years.
