“Picking chrysanthemums beneath the eastern hedge, I glimpse the southern mountains in the distance.” Who among modern city dwellers wouldn’t want to escape the noise and concrete jungle, immerse themselves in the forests and countryside, admire the flowers in spring, enjoy the cool in summer, appreciate the fruits in autumn, and recite poems about the snow in winter—taking a moment to truly relax?

In the south of Jiangnan lies the city of Jinhua, and to its south is Xianyuan Lake. At the beautiful source of Xianyuan Lake lies a theme park for sports tourism—Meidi Nanshan. The park’s main attraction is valley drifting, making it the most distinctive “twin-raft drifting” destination for sports and leisure in central and western Zhejiang.

Currently, Meidi Nanshan offers activities such as drifting, slides, zip-lining, team-building training, camping and barbecuing, CS shooting, swimming, rock climbing, board games, and farmstay experiences. Among these, Meidi Nanshan Drifting is the most distinctive activity. It features a “twin-raft drifting” format where two people ride together in a specially designed raft, starting from the source and navigating through rapids, deep pools, dams, backflows, huge rocks, and valleys before reaching the finish line. With a total drop of nearly 80 meters, it delivers an exhilarating water adventure.

Along the way at the Meidi Nanshan Drifting scenic area, visitors can also enjoy views of Xianyuan Lake’s vast waters, streams, wildflowers, and steep cliffs. The area is covered predominantly by bamboo forests, with a forest coverage rate of over 95%. The air here has hundreds of times more negative oxygen ions than in large and medium-sized cities, which is highly beneficial to health. The site is suitable for young and middle-aged adults, families, and other visitors looking to vacation, escape the heat, recuperate, and unwind during weekends and holidays. Since opening in May 2008, it has welcomed nearly 30,000 visitors from Shanghai, Jiangsu, Anhui, Jiangxi, and cities within Zhejiang such as Hangzhou, Wenzhou, and Ningbo. After a comprehensive upgrade in 2009, the scenic area now receives an average of 8,000 visitors per day, ranking first among similar drifting parks in Zhejiang and third in the nation.
