Jinhua Archives

The Jinhua Archives serves as a patriotic education base.

The Jinhua Archives originated from the Jinhua Regional Archives established in June 1982. In June 1986, the Jinhua Municipal Archives Bureau was founded, operating jointly with the archives under a shared office system. In 2001, the former Jinhua County Archives Bureau (and Archives) were fully incorporated into the Jinhua Municipal Archives Bureau (and Archives). The new building of the Municipal Archives was completed and put into use in 2007, covering an area of 44 mu with a garden-style layout. It is divided into four functional areas: public service zone, precious archives storage zone, specialized archives storage zone, and administrative office zone, with the first phase construction covering a floor area of 11,882 square meters. Since its opening, it has set a precedent and provided a model for the construction of new archives buildings across the province. The Jinhua Archives is a centralized and unified repository for preserving municipal-level (including Wucheng District and Jindong District) archives and materials in Jinhua City, as well as a center for public access to archives and historical research. It is a national first-class comprehensive archives. In 2008, it was designated as a “Jinhua Patriotic Education Base,” in 2010 as a “Zhejiang Provincial Archives Patriotic Education Demonstration Base,” and in 2013 as a “Provincial-Level Patriotic Education Base.”
