Tianhuangping Scenic Area

Tianhuangping Scenic Area is a provincial-level scenic spot located in the southeastern part of Anji County, 17 kilometers from the county town. Covering an area of 23 square kilometers, the scenic area consists of three sections: the Power Station, Bamboo Sea, and Lingfeng. It boasts abundant and diverse natural and cultural resources, where man-made and natural attractions complement each other beautifully. The Power Station section features the Daxi Gorge, which extends 9 kilometers, with towering mountains on both sides and the Daxi River flowing at the bottom, eventually converging into the lower reservoir. The summit of Tianhuangping features a vast flatland that serves as the upper reservoir of the power station. China's largest and the world's third-largest pumped-storage power station—the Tianhuangping Pumped Storage Power Station—was constructed here. The scenic area is covered with vast bamboo forests and crisscrossed by numerous streams. The Lingfeng section houses the world-renowned Bamboo Species Garden, the Bamboo Museum, and the thousand-year-old Lingfeng Temple.
