Anji Ancient City Ruins

The Anji Ancient City Ruins are a Major Historical and Cultural Site Protected at the National Level.

The Huzhou Anji Ancient City Ruins (Anji Ancient City Ruins and Longshan Yue State Nobles’ Tomb Cluster) are located in Gucheng Village, Dibu Town, Anji County, Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province. They lie 4.5 kilometers north of the Ancheng city wall. In 2013, the Longshan Yue State Nobles’ Tomb Cluster was included in the seventh batch of Major Historical and Cultural Sites Protected at the National Level and merged with the sixth batch site, the Anji Ancient City Ruins.

The Longshan Yue State Nobles’ Tomb Cluster is situated on the Longshan Mountain range to the east and south of the ancient city ruins, distributed across natural villages such as Xiaoshan, Xijiachong, Shenjiawan, and Yaojiawan. The tombs are generally large in scale, with towering earthen mounds resembling small hills, some surrounded by moats, indicating that they were the burial sites of the highest-ranking nobility who once lived within the ancient city ruins.
