Yunhong Pagoda

Yunhong Pagoda is a cultural relic protection unit of Zhejiang Province.

Yunhong Pagoda is located on Baota Mountain, 1.5 kilometers southeast of Xiaofeng Town, Anji County. It was funded and built in the second year of the Jiaqing reign during the Qing Dynasty (1797) by Wu Huanting, a scholar. The pagoda stands 29.4 meters tall, has seven stories and eight sides, and is constructed from solid brick in an imitation wooden pavilion style, displaying distinct architectural features of the Qing Dynasty. The fourth story of the pagoda features the inscription “其道大光” (Its Path Shines Brightly) on the eastern facade, and the western facade contains two stone steles inscribed with the name “Yunhong Pagoda.” Inside Xiaofeng Town Central Primary School, there is also a stele from the pagoda’s construction, engraved with the names of donors, the construction costs, and details of the building process during the eleventh year of the Jiaqing reign (1806). Yunhong Pagoda is a county-level cultural relic protection unit.

Xiaofeng Town: Xiaofeng Town is situated at the northern foot of Tianmu Mountain, in the central-southern part of Anji County, Zhejiang Province. It borders the county seat to the east, the Asia’s largest Tianhuangping Pumped Storage Power Station to the south, the Longwangshan Nature Reserve to the west, and connects to Guangde County of Anhui Province to the north. Within Xiaofeng Town, Provincial Highway 11 and Provincial Highway 12 run through the town. It is 12.5 kilometers from Dibu Town (the county seat), 230 kilometers from Shanghai, 270 kilometers from Nanjing in Jiangsu Province, and 69 kilometers from Hangzhou, the provincial capital, all accessible via first-class highways, ensuring convenient transportation.
