Yangcheng Lake Anti-Japanese Struggle Historical Relics Exhibition Hall

The Yangcheng Lake Anti-Japanese Struggle Historical Relics Exhibition Hall is located in Xiaojing Village, Yangchenghu Town, Xiangcheng District, Suzhou. In 1995, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the Wu County Committee of the Communist Party of China established the Yangcheng Lake Anti-Japanese Struggle Historical Relics Exhibition Hall. The hall was renovated from the former site of the transportation liaison station of the CPC Suzhou County Committee during the war of resistance and the former office of the Jiangyong in Xiaojing, covering a total area of 124 square meters with a building area of 83 square meters.

Through seven sections — Preface, Iron Hooves Trample the Water Town, Sparking the Flame in the Reed Marshes, Flames of Resistance in Yangcheng, Defending the Base Area, Deep Remembrance, and Restoration Explanations of Revolutionary Sites — the exhibition displays 116 historical photos, 42 documents, 7 charts, and 68 artifacts. It historically and truthfully reflects the indomitable struggle of the military and civilians in the Yangcheng Lake area under the leadership of the Communist Party of China against Japanese invaders, Wang Jingwei’s puppet regime, and reactionary stubborn forces represented by Hu Zhaohan during the War of Resistance. It serves as a platform to promote the revolutionary struggle history of Xiangcheng District, commemorate revolutionary martyrs, and provide patriotic and revolutionary tradition education for young people.

The name of the exhibition hall was inscribed by Xia Guang, former commander of the New Jiangyong who persisted in the anti-Japanese struggle in the Yangcheng Lake area.

Xiaojing Village: Located on the north shore of Yangcheng Lake, Xiaojing Village borders Bacheng Town of Kunshan to the east, Shajiabang Town of Changshu to the north, the middle part of Yangcheng Lake to the south, and the Sujiahang Expressway to the west, covering a total area of 6.99 square kilometers.
