Xiangcheng Modern Agricultural Industrial Park

The park is located in Yangcheng Lake Town, known as the "Hometown of Clear-Water Chinese Mitten Crabs in China." It borders Kunshan to the east, faces Yangcheng Lake to the south, connects to Changshu to the north, and reaches the Suzhou-Jiaxing-Hangzhou Expressway to the west. The planned total construction area is 60,000 mu, with an estimated total investment of about 4 billion yuan. As one of the key areas under the comprehensive supporting reform pilot program for integrated urban-rural development in Yangcheng Lake Town—one of Suzhou’s 23 such pilot zones—the park is also an important component of the Suzhou “Million-Mu Large-Scale Modern Agriculture Demonstration Zone.” It has been successively approved as the “Jiangsu Provincial Modern Agricultural Industrial Park” and the “Top Ten Modern Agricultural Demonstration Parks in Suzhou,” and has been listed as one of the key construction projects by the Xiangcheng District Committee and District Government.

In 2009, the first phase of 5,000 mu was completed, forming four major functional areas: high-efficiency ecological fishery zone, farming experience zone, leisure fishing zone, and agricultural science and technology R&D zone. In 2010, the second phase of 10,000 mu was completed, establishing four major bases: a base for breeding premium aquatic species, a factory farming base, a base for breeding and producing high-quality Yangcheng Lake crabs, and a base for cultivating F1 generation freshwater shrimp. All have officially commenced operations. In 2011, the park planned to launch the third phase, involving infrastructure and supporting facilities development on 21,000 mu, aiming to build seven major sectors: high-efficiency ecological shrimp and crab farming base, high-efficiency high-quality rice planting base, aquatic product trading comprehensive market, Yangcheng Lake Changle Theme Park, agricultural products fine deep-processing zone, large-water-area farming zone, and leisure sightseeing experience zone—thereby creating and improving the modern fishery industry chain along Yangcheng Lake.

Chedu Village: Chedu Village in Yangcheng Lake Town is situated in the northeastern part of the town. It neighbors Bacheng Town of Kunshan City to the east, faces the waters of Yangcheng Lake to the south, connects to Fengyang Road to the west, and is adjacent to the Yangcheng Lake Freshwater Shrimp Market to the north. The Suzhou Ring Expressway and Xiangshi Road run through the village. The location is highly advantageous, with relatively convenient road access. The village was formed by merging the former Nanshao, Chedu, and Xiajiu administrative villages. It covers an area of 3.66 square kilometers, with a total population of 2,871, a permanent resident population of 2,966, and 420 non-local residents.
