Suzhou Meiyuan Garden

Bordered by Taihu Lake to the south and Longshan Mountain to the north, Suzhou Meiyuan Garden is located just 5 kilometers from downtown Wuxi and enjoys convenient transportation. In 1912, Rong Zongjing and Rong Desheng, leading figures in China’s national industry, purchased the land here with the grand vision of spreading fragrance across the world. They built the garden against the mountain, planted plum blossoms, and used the blossoms to adorn the mountain, hence naming it Meiyuan (Plum Garden). In the new century, the Meiyuan Hengshan Scenic Area has become a famous tourist attraction that integrates natural scenery, historical and cultural sites, exotic flowers, garden structures, and recreational wellness facilities.
