The 2013 China "Jinxi International Jet Ski Grand Prix," organized by the Water Sports Administration Center of the General Administration of Sport of China and the Jiangsu Provincial Sports Bureau, and hosted by the Jinxi Town Government of Kunshan, the Kunshan Sports Bureau, and the Kunshan Tourism Resort Management Committee, was held in Jinxi Town, Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province.
As a highlight of the event schedule, the first Kunshan Baitu Tandem Kayak Challenge, co-organized by Canadian Baitu (RIOT) Kayak China, was held on September 27 and 28, featuring preliminary and final rounds. Forty kayakers from clubs across Jiangsu, Jiangxi, Zhejiang, Hunan, Hong Kong, Xinjiang, Shanghai, and Tianjin registered for the 2-kilometer shuttle race. After fierce competition, the top three finalist pairs—representing Hangzhou Coastline Club and two Shanghai-based clubs—won Baitu Edge13, Edge11, and Quest10 kayaks respectively, all provided by Baitu Kayak China – Kunshan Yaohé Sporting Goods Co., Ltd. The oldest competing pair—a 50-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman from Tianjin Tianhaifeng Club—earned the Best Spirit Award for their tenacity and upbeat attitude. Additionally, the seamless teamwork of the 45-year-old male champion and his partner became a standout moment of the race.
This two-day kayak challenge not only offered domestic kayak clubs and enthusiasts a chance to showcase their skills, but also provided an open platform for mutual exchange and learning, attracting a wide range of newcomers to the sport.
