China Airlines has officially launched a check-in counter at the Kunshan Terminal in Jiangsu Province, mainland China, becoming the first Taiwanese airline to offer off-airport check-in services for cross-strait flights. Passengers flying with China Airlines can complete procedures such as check-in, baggage drop-off, and boarding pass collection at the dedicated China Airlines counter in the Kunshan Terminal, then take a bus or drive themselves to Shanghai Hongqiao or Pudong Airport, where they can proceed directly through customs upon arrival.

Passengers checking in at the China Airlines counter in the Kunshan Terminal and flying from Hongqiao Airport must complete check-in procedures 3–5 hours before departure; those flying from Pudong Airport should arrive at the Kunshan Terminal 4–6 hours before departure to align with bus schedules and 1–2 hours of travel time. Checked baggage will be transported by the Kunshan Terminal to the designated airport, where subsequent security screening and other procedures will be completed according to regulations.
Kunshan is a hub for Taiwanese businesses. The Kunshan Terminal is about a 5-minute drive from the city center and was originally only open to mainland Chinese airlines. With the launch of China Airlines’ check-in counter, passengers on flights departing from Hongqiao and Pudong Airports can enjoy convenient baggage drop-off and check-in services. China Airlines currently also provides off-airport check-in services—including check-in and baggage collection—at Taiwan High-Speed Rail Taoyuan Station, Hong Kong Station and Kowloon Station on the Airport Express Line, Shenzhen Shekou and Fuyong Terminals upstream of the Pearl River Delta, Dongguan Humen Terminal, Guangzhou Nansha Terminal, Macau, and the L9 Pier. In the future, off-airport check-in will also be available via the Taoyuan Airport MRT.
