Zhenfeng Bridge

Zhenfeng Bridge is located at the western river mouth of Zhongshi in Zhouzhuang, connecting Zhenfeng Lane and Xiwan Street. It is a single-arch stone bridge. The ancient name of Zhouzhuang was Zhenfeng Li, from which the bridge gets its name. It was renovated in the seventh year of the Chongzhen era of the Ming Dynasty (1634) and rebuilt in the fourth year of the Yongzheng era of the Qing Dynasty (1726). The bridge is 12.2 meters long, 2.8 meters wide, and has a span of 4.4 meters. The arch is intact, and there are even some wolfberries growing in the crevices of the stones, adding to its ancient charm.

Zhouzhuang’s ancient name was Zhenfeng Li, from which Zhenfeng Bridge gets its name. This is a single-arch stone bridge with a history of over 300 years. The bridge arch is intact, and the stonework is weathered. To the north of the bridge is the Misty Tower, once a gathering place for members of the Southern Society such as Liu Yazi and Chen Qubing. Liu Yazi once wrote the verse: “Three houses by Zhenfeng Bridge, one corner of the Misty Tower where night never ends.”
