The Zhouzhuang Museum of Life Mysteries is the world’s only exhibition hall of plastinated biological specimens, meticulously created by Professor Sui Hongjin, known as “China’s pioneer in plastination,” along with his team. It opened to the public in October 2014, located in Zhouzhuang, renowned as “China’s No.1 Water Town,” with a total investment of 220 million yuan. It is now a national-level science education base of the Chinese Association of Anatomists.

The Museum of Life Mysteries has earned widespread recognition from both the exhibition and academic communities for its visual appeal and educational value. It has been covered by numerous media outlets over the years, including CCTV-1, CCTV-10, Hong Kong’s Sun TV, and TV stations in Liaoning and Dalian provinces. It was also once named one of the top ten must-see exhibitions in New York City.

All exhibits in the museum are created using the museum’s own bioplastic technology. This technique involves a vacuum physical process where reactive polymer compounds infiltrate biological specimens, replacing water and lipids in the tissues to transform them into plastinated forms. This method preserves the tissues as if they were still alive, perfectly merging art with anatomical science. Each exhibit is so exquisitely crafted that it leaves visitors in awe. Plastinated specimens are dry, non-toxic, odorless, and touchable, offering significant value for teaching, research, and public science education.

The Museum of Life Mysteries houses a collection of over a thousand specimens, including up to a hundred world-class plastinated pieces valued at billions. Some of these items have been included in the Guinness World Records, making every exhibit truly breathtaking. The museum also features large-scale plastinated animal specimens exhibited for the first time in the world, presenting absolutely stunning works that deeply move the soul.

Zhouzhuang Town: Zhouzhuang Town is located in the northeastern part of Kunshan, bordering Taicang City and Changshu City. It was formed by the merger of the former Zhouzhuang, Xinzhen, and Luyang towns, and is designated as the central area of the northern part of Kunshan by the Kunshan Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government. The town covers an area of 81.56 square kilometers, with a permanent local population of 43,000 and a migrant population of 60,000.
