Jinxi China Collection Art Exhibition Hall

The collections displayed at the Jinxi China Collection Art Exhibition Hall were provided by Mr. Xin Shuwei from the Cultural Relics Appraisal Office of Kaifeng City, Henan Province. The exhibits are divided into three major categories: Ming and Qing dynasty rosewood furniture, treasured bronze ware collections, and ancient porcelain from various dynasties.

Traditional Chinese furniture has long been renowned worldwide for its fine materials, exquisite craftsmanship, and superior artistry. The Ming and Qing dynasty furniture that has been passed down to this day is not only celebrated for its elegant designs, but also for its use of high-quality materials such as rosewood and huanghuali wood. Ming and Qing dynasty rosewood and huanghuali furniture represent the pinnacle of ancient Chinese furniture craftsmanship.

Bronze ware is one of the great contributions of our ancestors to human material civilization. The earliest bronze ware in China dates back to the Xia dynasty, reaching a highly developed stage by the Shang dynasty. By the middle Shang period, inscriptions and intricate patterns began to appear, and the late Shang to Western Zhou period marked its golden age. This continued until the emergence of ironware during the Warring States period, which gradually replaced bronze. Chinese bronze ware essentially spanned the entire duration of the slave society era.

Porcelain is another unique achievement in China’s artistic treasury, and it can be said that China is the birthplace and homeland of porcelain. Chinese porcelain originated during the Shang and Zhou dynasties, matured in the Eastern Han dynasty, and reached an extraordinarily brilliant period during the Song dynasty.
