The Strange House is an entertainment venue located within Zhouzhuang Ancient Town. It is not included in the ancient town ticket and requires a separate fee. Though its exterior looks just like the other classic-style buildings in the town, the interior resembles a 3D gallery. Here, you can use optical illusion principles to take amazing photos, and there's also a thrilling "Hall of Auditory Illusions" waiting for you to explore.

Inside the Strange House, tables and chairs might be stuck upside down on the ceiling, or walls may be covered with 3D murals, creating a disorienting space. With a vivid imagination and a sense of playfulness, you can appear to walk on walls, escape from a snake’s mouth, or even make your body vanish while leaving only your head resting on a table… It’s even more fun when you pose creatively with friends. The Hall of Auditory Illusions starts off lit, but once you put on the headphones provided, the room suddenly goes dark and various spooky sounds start playing—it’s perfect for those who love ghost stories.
