South Lake Autumn Moon Garden

The South Lake Autumn Moon Garden is situated by the South Lake of Zhouzhuang Ancient Town and is divided into four scenic areas: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter. The Spring, Summer, and Autumn areas feature picturesque garden scenery, including the Siliang Hall and Jiying Studio, which were built in memory of Zhang Han—the man behind the “craving for water shield and perch” anecdote. The Liu Binke Residence and Mengde Pavilion were built to honor Liu Yuxi. The Winter area centers around Quanfu Lecture Temple, a typical garden-style Buddhist temple where most of the temple structures and pavilions float above the water, earning it the reputation of a “Buddhist kingdom on water.” The scenery here is particularly stunning.
