Attraction Introduction

Yifei’s Home was originally a Ming Dynasty building, served as the Shen Family Charitable School during the Republican era, and later housed a coal briquette factory. In 2005, it was renamed Yifei’s Home in memory of the famous painter Chen Yifei, and now houses numerous items related to him.

Chen Yifei is particularly well-known in Zhouzhuang, likely due to his painting "Memory of My Hometown," which depicts the Twin Bridges. The painting brought fame to the Twin Bridges, and in turn, made Zhouzhuang renowned both in China and abroad.

Yifei’s Home boasts a sizable, tranquil courtyard planted with crabapple and osmanthus trees, surrounded by classic, old-style water town architecture. The main hall, lobby, and second floor all feature relevant exhibitions, including objects once used by Chen Yifei, his publications, artworks, certificates of honor, and photographs. A bronze statue of Chen Yifei stands in the center of the lobby.

Zhouzhuang Shenghuo, a cultural café located within Yifei’s Home, also serves as a live broadcast studio for the online radio platform Himalaya. It shares touching stories from Zhouzhuang and is well worth a visit.
