Puji Bridge

Puji Bridge is a cultural relic protection unit of Suzhou City.

Puji Bridge, commonly known as "Chenjia Bridge," spans the Zhongshi River in Jinxi Town from east to west. It was first built in the second year of the Hongzhi reign during the Ming Dynasty (1489). This single-arch stone bridge is made of bluestone, with its arch constructed using jointed segmental voussoirs. It was designated as a cultural relic protection unit of Kunshan City in 1991.

Jinxi Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Kunshan City. Its ancient name was Jinxi, which was changed to Chenmu Village during the Southern Song Dynasty and then to Chenmu Town in the Qing Dynasty. In 1958, it became Dianxi Commune; in 1962, it reverted to Chenmu Town; in 1965, it was renamed Maoshe Commune; in 1981, it returned to Chenmu Town; and in 1992, it was renamed Jinxi Town. Located in the southwest of the city, it is 23 kilometers from the urban center. The town covers an area of 82.1 square kilometers and has a population of 48,000. Several highways pass through the area. As a typical water town, it has navigable waterways.
