Qinfeng Site

The Qinfeng Site is a cultural heritage protection unit of Suzhou City.

The Qinfeng Site is located in Xibacheng Village, Qinfeng Village, Bacheng Town. In the spring of 1986, while digging a fish pond, villagers discovered numerous pottery fragments in the surface soil and unearthed an oval stone tool at a deeper level—flat and smooth—as well as two pottery dou rings, which were handed over to the Bacheng Cultural Station for collection. Later, Chen Qianyuan from a clothing factory also excavated a stone plough, a stone battle-axe, a small polished stone tool, a Tang Dynasty roof tile end, and a pottery dou ring, all of which were collected by the then Kunshan County Cultural Relics Management Office.

Bacheng Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Kunshan City. It was known as Bacheng Township in 1949, changed to a commune in 1958, reverted to a township in 1983, and became a town in 1986. Located in the northwest of the city, it is 11.3 kilometers from the urban center. Covering an area of 53.7 square kilometers with a population of 23,000, it is accessible by road from the city. Surrounded by Yangcheng Lake, Bacheng Lake, Manli Lake, Kuilei Lake, and Zhicheng Lake, the town also has an extensive network of waterways including the Zhangjiagang River, Yanglintang River, Qingshui Port, Xin Kaihe River, and Maosha Pond.
