Miaodun West Site
The Miaodun West Site is a cultural heritage site protected at the municipal level in Suzhou.
The Miaodun West Site is located southwest of Miaodun Village, Yushan Town, Kunshan. It was formerly known as the Miaodun Site. Miaodun Village got its name from the ancient Jifu'an Temple that once stood there, but the village is currently undergoing overall relocation.
The site is an earthen mound that rises above the surrounding area, surrounded by water on all sides, nearly square in shape, measuring approximately 100 meters in both the north-south and east-west directions, with the highest point reaching about 5 meters. The deposit layers are mainly divided into two phases, with the later deposits mainly consisting of relics from the Song and Yuan dynasties, and the earlier deposits belonging to the Liangzhu culture.
In 2009, the Miaodun West Site was designated as a cultural heritage site protected at the municipal level in Kunshan.
