The Jiangdu Modern Floriculture Industrial Park covers a total area of 35,000 mu. Phase I (the core demonstration zone) has attracted a total of 55 million yuan in investment from “three types of capital” sources. Currently, more than 20 large enterprises and research institutions, including the Jiangsu Academy of Forestry, Nanjing Forestry University, Yangzhou Athena Horticultural Technology Development Co., Ltd., and Shandong Taicheng Investment Co., Ltd., have invested and established operations within the park.

The Jiangdu Modern Floriculture Industrial Park is located in the eastern suburbs of Jiangdu, extending south to the Ning-Tong First-Class Highway, west to – Road, north to National Highway 328, and east adjacent to Yiling Town.

It is planned to invest 200 million yuan in three phases to develop the park into a “new variety introduction garden, new technology promotion garden, new knowledge training garden, new product exhibition garden, and ecological tourism garden.” At present, the first and second phases of the park have been completed, with 15,000 mu of land transferred, and over 20 entities including the Jiangsu Academy of Forestry, Nanjing Forestry University, Yangzhou University College of Agriculture, Yangzhou Forestry Station, Yangzhou Athena Horticultural Technology Development Co., Ltd., Hong Kong Jiande Company, Provincial Planning Commission Suchuang Company, Huaiyin Feihong Company, Gaoyou Agricultural Science Institute, and Jiangdu Red Maple Company, among others, as well as local major growers, contracted to plant floricultural crops.

Major varieties include: Golden Weeping Willow, Bald Cypress, Hybrid Paulownia, Chinese Tallow Tree, Crabapple, Red Maple, Michelia maudiae, Michelia chapensis, Roses, Magnolia grandiflora, Camphor Trees, Osmanthus, and over 30 other new floricultural varieties. Multiple advanced floriculture production technologies are applied. The park construction has attracted nearly 40 million yuan in “four types of capital” investment. Key projects such as the Comprehensive Building of the Floriculture Research Institute and the Longchuan Bonsai Art Garden have been completed. Projects under construction include a golf training ground, fishing center, and high-quality dairy cow breeding farm. Local farmers working in the park have earned nearly 2 million yuan in income.

The development of the park will establish and improve an operational mechanism based on “government facilitation, business operation, leading enterprise drive, technological support, central management, and association promotion,” to truly realize the social, economic, and ecological benefits of the science and technology demonstration park.

Yiling Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Jiangdu City. It is a base for bee milk products in Yangzhou. In the early years of the Republic of China, it was known as Yiling City. After 1929, it was changed to a town. After liberation, it continued to be called Yiling Town. In 1958, it became Yiling Commune, in 1982, it became a township, and in 1983, it was re-established as a town. Located in the central part of the city, it is 12.5 kilometers from the municipal government. The town covers an area of 38.8 square kilometers and has a population of 40,000.
