The Yangzhou Paper-cutting Museum is divided into four parts: the History Exhibition Hall of Yangzhou Paper-cutting Art, the Master Paper-cutters' Studio, the Paper-cutting Art Workshop, and the Paper-cutting Sales Center. It houses over 400 representative works of paper-cutting from various schools across the country. The museum has also set up a dedicated workshop and master studio where visitors can experience the charm of traditional paper-cutting.

The paper-cutting museum has become a venue that comprehensively showcases the long history, production process, and exquisite craftsmanship of Yangzhou paper-cutting. It allows visitors to directly participate in paper-cutting activities, making it a new attraction that integrates industrial production, traditional culture display, research, teaching, sightseeing, and shopping. The museum features the “Zhang Yongshou Paper-cutting Art Exhibition.” Zhang Yongshou was a renowned Chinese master of arts and crafts, and his creations such as “Hundred Flowers Blooming,” “Hundred Chrysanthemums,” and “Hundred Butterflies Courting Flowers” are hailed as “masterpieces in the art of paper-cutting.”

Yangzhou paper-cutting is among the first batch of national intangible cultural heritages. Originating in the Han Dynasty, Yangzhou paper-cutting has adapted to the varying aesthetic preferences of different eras over the centuries with its diverse forms and unique artistic styles, beautifying the lives of the general public. As an elegant form of folk art, Yangzhou paper-cutting features delicate and smooth lines, exquisitely designed compositions, exaggerated yet concise imagery, and innovative techniques, creating a distinctive artistic charm known as the “essence of paper-cutting.” It represents the southern school of Chinese paper-cutting, and the masterpieces by renowned artists hold significant artistic and collectible value.
