Huayuan Garden is a Yangzhou municipal cultural heritage site.

Huayuan Garden

It is now a municipal-level cultural heritage site, located at No. 22 Dongquanmen. Originally a residential garden of a Qing Dynasty salt merchant, it later became the home of He Lianfang, the prefect of Ji'an in Jiangxi who resided in Yangzhou. The eastern part of the residence was a garden, which once featured rockeries, pavilions, winding bridges, a pond, and planted flowers and trees—now mostly destroyed, though a magnolia tree still remains in the northern section. The western residential area currently retains a main hall and two rows of living quarters.
