The Temple of the Salt Ancestor is a Yangzhou municipal-level cultural heritage site.

Temple of the Salt Ancestor

It is now a municipal-level cultural heritage site, located at No. 20 Kangshan Street in the urban area. It was built by imperial decree in the 12th year of the Tongzhi reign of the Qing Dynasty (1873) to enshrine Zeng Guofan, a prominent Qing official and leader of the Xiang Army. The complex includes a front gate hall, an entrance hall, and a main hall, covering an area of approximately 330 square meters. The main hall features a flush-gable roof with a three-bay width and a depth of seven rafters, and has a rolled shed in front, which remains largely intact.
