Yangzhou Planning Exhibition Hall

The Yangzhou Planning Exhibition Hall is a municipal cultural heritage conservation unit.

Located on the northeast side of Qujiang Park in Yangzhou, the Yangzhou Planning Exhibition Hall occupies the fourth floor and parts of the first and third floors of the podium building of the Construction Building. With an exhibition area of approximately 4,300 square meters, it was a key cultural and museum city construction project designated by the municipal Party committee and government in 2012. The hall began construction on May 2, 2010, and officially opened to the public free of charge on January 1, 2013.

In addition to traditional display methods such as panels and models, the hall employs high-tech means, integrating modern audiovisual and lighting technologies into the exhibition. With rich content, innovative concepts, and flexible interactive modes, it vividly and comprehensively introduces the city’s historical evolution, achievements in planning and construction, and a promising future. It presents the city’s image and planning vision from multiple perspectives and in a comprehensive manner, striving to make the hall an important window for showcasing and promoting the city’s image, a city reception lounge for investment promotion and international exchange, an information platform for planning exhibitions and public participation, and an educational base for citizens to learn about the city and engage in learning and exchange.

The hall is divided into five functional areas: the Digital Sandbox Area, the Planning Exhibition Area, the Interactive Model Area, the Temporary Exhibition and Public Notice Area, and the Planning Committee Meeting Area.

Digital Sandbox Area: The digital sandbox is a highlight of the hall. The demonstration area is about 8 meters high, with a spatial screen of 460 square meters and an information screen of 120 square meters. It mainly uses projection technology to accurately display images, animations, and 3D models on the information and spatial screens. Supported by synchronized narration, light and sound effects, and diverse interactive methods, it vividly, three-dimensionally, and comprehensively showcases urban planning and the 3D cityscape.

Planning Exhibition Area: Covering an area of about 500 square meters, this area fully displays the achievements of urban construction and development as well as various urban planning outcomes through photos, large multimedia screens, touch screens, and physical sandbox models.

Interactive Model Area: Spanning approximately 100 square meters, this area is designed to emphasize interactivity and fun. It features interactive activities such as photo booths, city model building, and architectural model construction, serving as a creative space for visitors to take photos and for children to design their own cities.

Temporary Exhibition and Public Notice Area: Covering about 250 square meters, this area is mainly used for planning announcements and temporary exhibitions.

Planning Committee Meeting Area: With an area of about 1,000 square meters, this area includes two meeting rooms and one VIP lounge. It is equipped with advanced 3D consultation systems and 3D planning decision support systems, serving as the dedicated venue for the Municipal Planning Committee.

Since its opening, the Yangzhou Planning Exhibition Hall has successfully hosted domestic and international leaders, experts, social groups, and the general public, thanks to its beautiful surroundings, complete facilities, simple yet elegant design style, detailed exhibition content, and thoughtful reception services. It has received widespread recognition and high praise. In early 2014, the Planning Exhibition Hall was designated by the Municipal Party Committee Organization Department as the “Yangzhou Cadre Education and Training On-site Teaching Base.”
