The Yang’s Studio is a Yangzhou Municipal Cultural Heritage Site.

The Yang’s Studio

It is now a municipal-level cultural heritage site, located at No. 22 Bellows Lane. Originally the residence and garden of a local Yang family gentleman during the Republican era, it was designed by Yu Jizhi, a renowned garden architect in Yangzhou. The garden is divided by floral-patterned walls, with two south-facing study rooms in the northern courtyard; in the southern courtyard, an artificial hill is built in the east, with a pond dug beneath it, and a half-pavilion constructed in the southwest corner, connected to the study via a short corridor to the north. To the west of the garden, there are currently three courtyards of buildings, and behind the garden lie two more courtyards of halls. It is currently used as residential housing, has long lacked maintenance, and the ancient architecture is not well preserved, with the interiors largely altered. The Yang’s Studio is an outstanding example of small residential gardens and is included in Chen Congzhou’s edited book "Yangzhou Gardens."
