Yuansheng Temple is a Yangzhou municipal-level cultural relics protection unit.

Yuansheng Temple

It is now a municipal-level cultural relics protection unit, located at No. 146 Gengzi Street in the city center. In the early years of the Republic of China, it was built to pray for the soul of Xiao Yufeng, one of the eight major salt merchants of Yangzhou. In the early years after liberation, the "Weisheng Pavilion" was demolished, and the temple’s Buddha statues were relocated to Jushan in Jiangxi through the Buddhist Association. The existing structures include the mountain gate, main hall, scripture depository, rear hall, two side corridors, and a Ming Dynasty nanmu hall.
