Former Residence of Zhang Liangji

Situated at No. 20, Dingjiawan, this was the former home of Zhang Liangji, Viceroy of Huguang and Yunnan-Guizhou during the Xianfeng period of the Qing Dynasty. The original structure consisted of seven courtyards, but today only the entrance gate, main hall, and auxiliary rooms survive. The gateway is meticulously built — the gate wall, gate piers, gate frame, and the side walls inside the frame are constructed using finely ground bricks in lime mortar up to the roofline, representing a rare Qing-style golden-pillar gateway in Yangzhou. The main hall is three bays wide and seven rafters deep, and it houses three plaques bestowed by Emperor Xianfeng of the Qing Dynasty. It is currently inhabited by descendants of the Zhang family.
