The Li Family Residence at Shipailou

The Li Family Residence at Shipailou is a cultural heritage site protected by Yangzhou City.

Li Family Residence

Located at Nos. 14 and 16 Shipailou, the owner was Li Qingbo of the Qing Dynasty. The main gate faces east and features a brick-carved and polished gatehouse. The residence is oriented north-south and is divided into northern and southern sections. On the north side, entering through the gate leads to a courtyard, with a second gate facing east located to the west. Passing through this gate leads to another courtyard surrounded by corridors on three sides and a three-bay main hall. Behind the hall is a two-story building with six bays of frontage. On the south side, the gate also faces east, but the entrance hall has been converted into living quarters. Upon entering, there is a second gate facing east to the west, and the residence has three sections from front to back. The first and second sections are traditional "three bright and four hidden" style residences arranged in pairs, with a parlor located to the west of the courtyard; the third section is a residence with three bays and two side wings.
