The Scripture Depository is a cultural heritage site protected by Yangzhou City.

Scripture Depository

Located at No. 53 WanHong Fang, it was originally built during the Ming Dynasty’s Wanli era and renovated in the Qing Dynasty. The main gate faces south, and the mountain gate hall consists of three bays, housing statues of the Maitreya Buddha, the guardian deity Skanda, and the two guardians Heng and Ha. The second section also has three bays and serves as the main hall, where the Thousand-Armed Guanyin Bodhisattva is enshrined. The third section is the Scripture Depository Building, with three bays on each of its two floors. Additionally, to the west of the third-floor hall are the monk’s kitchen, dining hall, guest hall, abbot’s quarters, monks’ dormitories, and hidden chambers. After the liberation, it was used as WanHong Qiao Primary School. Through continuous renovations, only the Scripture Depository Building now remains.
